The need for fiscal sponsorship continues to grow, as more leaders and community-rooted organizations seek pathways to launch and sustain their work. Each year, NOPI receives an ever-increasing number of applications from teams already driving meaningful impact.
NOPI conducts rigorous due diligence to ensure every supported program is community-rooted, actively delivering impact, and built for long-term sustainability. From this pool, we identify leaders already building solutions in their communities.

NOPI attracts leaders who are already building—bringing structure, teams, and a clear vision for the future. The majority of applicants demonstrate established governance, active engagement in their work, and a commitment to long-term sustainability.
While some of our fiscally sponsored programs are early-stage ideas, a majority are community-rooted organizations already in motion. By supporting programs at any stage, NOPI is able to strengthen existing efforts and help position them for continued growth and lasting impact.

Many grassroots leaders are ready to grow, but lack the financial infrastructure required to access funding. Without these systems in place, even high-potential programs are often excluded from institutional capital.
NOPI bridges this gap by providing the structure and credibility needed to unlock grants, individual giving, and long-term financial sustainability.
Applicants join us without a formal annual budget, utilizing NOPI to establish their first professional financial roadmap.
Most projects have not yet raised formal donations, relying on NOPI’s status to pursue grants and individual gifts.
Foundation grants are the #1 target, a revenue stream that requires the institutional backing NOPI provides.
