Community Update

Monday, November 3, 2025

In this time of rapid change, our team is focused on welcoming and supporting new programs and responding to the growing needs created by recent policy shifts and the ongoing government shutdown.

We know many communities are navigating deep uncertainty — from disruptions to essential benefits like SNAP, to escalating attacks on transgender-affirming care, to the rollback of environmental protections and DEIA initiatives. These shifts have created both immediate crises and long-term challenges for the organizations and leaders we support.

At the same time, we’re seeing an incredible surge in new program development — grassroots efforts rising in direct response to these conditions. As federal funding grows increasingly limited, communities are turning toward one another: individuals, private foundations, and socially conscious companies stepping in to fill the gaps left behind.

Fiscal sponsorship has never been more vital. It allows new initiatives to launch rapidly and operate securely within a shared ecosystem of resources, compliance, and care. Through this model, we’re helping leaders and changemakers mobilize faster, sustain their work more effectively, and stay focused on impact rather than bureaucracy.

Try as we might, we remain a small but mighty team, working closely with our partners to meet the growing demand. We’re triaging the most urgent needs as they come in and prioritizing programs doing time-sensitive or life-saving work. As a result, we currently have a waitlist for new program inquiries and are experiencing longer-than-usual response times.

We deeply appreciate your patience and partnership as we balance responsiveness with our commitment to quality and care.

In the meantime, we encourage you to access the resources we’ve built for our community:

Sincerely,
Team NOPI
